How are stats calculated
« on: March 11, 2007, 08:07:18 PM »
I was just looking at my stats page and there are a few anomolies (see attached screenshot)

Look at activity by posts. PHP help shows 2000+ while FAQ shows 11 but the the widths of the bars appear reversed.

Also the activity percentages look fubar. I spend most of my time in PHP Help and look at FAQ once every Preston Guild (for none Brits, a Preston Guild is a holiday that occurs one day every 30 years) yet the figures are well adrift.

Same here. Ordering is fine, the graphs are messed up. Bug?

could be that the percentages calculated are the percentages your activity represents in that specific forum.  so even if most of your time is spent in PHP Help (by posts), the actual percentage it's displaying is the ratio of your posts to total posts in PHP Help, rather than your overall posts.

I'm going to go with akitchin's theory here.  I could look through the code and figure it out, but I'm willing to bet that's the case.
PHP 5 - MySQL 5 - Win Vista 64 - Firefox 3, IE 7
Info: PHP Manual

Bingo.  That's correct.  I was wondering the same thing at first when I started using SMF.
