Ah ok.. perfect. Then yes, perhaps rewording the donors page to better reflect this explaination. I was under the impression I would need to use a separate login to a separate donor account (thus abandoning this current one, and starting all over with a brand new identity that has nothing to do with the one I am currently using).

I changed it to:
Quote
For a small amount of money you'll be able to support PHP Freaks and thereby keep it running. In return your account will get a special color and stars will be displayed under your username. Moreover, all advertisements will be hidden when you are logged in.

Better?

Does the hidden advertisement feature remain even when your donation has expired and are moved back to Member status?

No, it's for active subscribers only. Either way you'll be supporting us. Either by paying us directly (subscription) or by paying us indirectly (by having ads shown).

The subscription is an extension of the normal donating we used to have where you would get no recognition.

Anyone else notice a long delay now from when the first post displays along with the ad (every post I've seen only has YouTube), then a short while later the rest of the replies display?

I have a delay, I wouldnt say that it is a long delay, but it is definitely noticeable.

You're just going to have to put up with it. :p

Obviously
Code: [Select]

I guess the Ads are on each page of the same thread too...
If I can't make it better, then I'll make it worse, but it definitely won't be the same.

Do Admins / Mods still see the ad's? lol
Scared you in an immediate and surprising way, like "Someone jumped out of the closet and I screamed like a little girl and I'm not sure, but I think soiled myself" way, or was it more of an impending doom sort of way, like "Oh crap, my girlfriend is 2 weeks late dammit I knew I should have pulled out" way?

Sorry cobin, Just funny as . . .

Yes we do, although some people might argue that we donate our time instead of monetarily.

When ever I first saw the ads, I was happy.  Weird reaction I guess, but I would like for phpfreaks to stay around ;p.  Nothing is free.

Edit: I guess that implies that I think phpfreak couldn't pay the bill or what ever.  I don't know his finances (and they're none of my business), but I just think it's good that hopefully the community will support (or atleast help support) its self.

The new ads suck. I blocked them.

If you had have just asked for donations, I would have puts something in - I use this site regularly and would be happy to contribute. I'm sure there are many others who would do the same. But I feel like I'm being held hostage to it now.

They barely take up any space!  I don't even notice them.  Also, how can you get so mad over phpfreak trying to not have to spend his own money to run this forum?  Unlike you, most people would not donate.  And, as for me, I would feel held hostage if directly asked to donate.
