I am using PHP, MySQL, PHP, MyAdmin on Windows IIS 5.1 Server, But I felt so boaring when I installed every thing separatly, Like First I install PHP, Then MySQL Connector, Then PHP MyAdmin, We will be very thank full to Microsoft if they start supporting PHP as Builtin in Windows IIS Servers and Also improve the performance of ASP with MySQL instead of MS SQL....

What do you think about my request Guys

Honestly, that sounds reasonable. Create a package manager, like Wamp...maybe Wimp (Windows IIS MySQL PHP).

I do not know much about IIS, but the Xp guys should be able to make an installer package setup to setup IIS MySQL and PHP on Windows to work the best it can with good common default settings. I think that would be a good step for Windows, as that is my biggest beef, IIS. It is a pain from what I remember to setup, if this process was automated and integrated with PHP and MySQL (or MSSQL) that would be cool.

Also, the PHPMyAdmin people would have to agree to allow MS to package it in anything or make an installer for it.

And to be honest, if I were MS, I wouldn't want to package PHPMyAdmin with IIS.  Woo PHP!  Open source!  But when it comes down to it, they want PHP under IIS.  Not just PHP ;p.  MySQL is a direct competitor to MSSQL, so I don't see why they would want to push PHPMyAdmin.
Why doesn't anyone ever say hi, hey, or whad up world?

I don't think GPL2 prohibits redistributing GPL'ed software in bundles of non-GPL compliant software. A bundle isn't a derivative work after all.

I agree though, I don't see Microsoft bundling neither MySQL nor phpMyAdmin with their web stacks. SQLServer Express is already free, so there would be no reason why they would push the competitors' products, especially not after Oracle bought Sun.

As Corbin stated, http://www.microsoft.com/Web/downloads/platform.aspx is actually a really nice way to get the WISP stack onto a Windows platform.

We currently have no plans to distribute MySQL or PHPMyAdmin through the installer.

btw, PHP is a separate item from IIS. We are not going to build it into IIS as somebody above was talking about.

I will bring up internally the question that was asked here, could MySQL be made more interoperable/faster with ASP.NET.

I think the big selling point will be a nice mmc snap-in for controlling a windows web server.  If everything is integrated into one nice control panel that allows you to change config settings, sites/etc.

I can see this being used more in windows development evironments and in corporate networks.  I see a lot of companies that already have competent windows admins and servers that may want to develop PHP applications but not invest in linux servers and training.

The platform installer looks like it will be nice and simple, but my question is will this be available to install like most other server roles?  Windows has a simple interface for adding/removing server roles and I would like to see full support for everything under the web server branch both during a fresh install and at any point after.

If you put it right in the user's face they may consider it from the start rather than searching online for solutions.
