Forums upgraded
« on: November 21, 2009, 09:39:13 AM »
I have upgraded the forums to the latest version of SMF. If you experience any issues you think might be related to the upgrade, please report them in this topic.

Currently the following issues are known:
  • Topic solved mod is not installed
  • Advertisements are gone (though I suppose some people don't mind that)
  • The header looks kind of ugly.

Before reporting any display issues, please clear your browser's cache and see if that resolves the issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience the downtime may have caused. To reduce downtime, I brought the site back up even though some minor issues are still present.

Just curious if you are going to keep the styling or change it up?

:) (I was kinda partial to the old styling but something new is fine too)

The new layout in SMF will be used. If the layout would be changed it would be to a custom PHP Freaks layout, but there are no plans for doing that.

Large text/image signatures appear to break the layout under Safari 4. For example, premiso's post in this thread.

I don't have access to a Safari install. Could you post a screenshot?

There are some glitches in Chrome too

Just checked Safari, looks quite similar.

Looks different, but I prefer the more modern look.  Maybe we can customize it a little bit.

I changed my authentication to OpenID. Seems to be working.

Also, clicking image in the header links to forum instead of main site.

Hmm... "my" glitch looks different. I've also got the Linux install of Chromium though. I checked on a clean install of SMF and the same thing happens so it's not just our install that's broken.

Looks (and from first appearances, works) great!  Perhaps, somewhere down the line, the header image could be changed to fit in more with the new design. One minor annoyance is that the hyperlink colour is far too similar to the normal text colour: I find it difficult to differentiate text from linked text now :(

Have you checked after I uploaded the adapted logo that jcombs made (clear cache!)?

I didn't notice it untill I read this thread, but the logo looks good.  :thumb-up:
