for SEO purposes, it is better to have the keywords of your page in the name of the program I believe, so that kind of rules out .......yourdomain.com/page.php?id=123 as the best way to organise your urls.

The other thing they say, is to have keywords in the text of links and to NOT have 'Home Page' as the menu item back to your front page but to have keywords there too.

Can you be more specific and tell us the kind of thing you are considering?

On a php site that uses gets for navigation look at the use of htaccess for the SEO munging of urls. Also take a google for SEO and the proper use of keywords-description related to the title of each page and the body and the proper use of H1 and H2 with keywords. If the use of H1 and H2 scare you, remember that you can use CSS to make H1/H2/any text size and color you want. I like to use them with a bg color and border and regular sized bold padded text.
Just remember. Dont get tricky. Dont over saturate with keywords and dont use hidden(same color as bg) text.
Look back to yesterdays posts. I put a script in a reply that takes a page and uses the meta keywords tag to get density from the links and body text of a page.

if you only read two things I guess this covers it fairly well in a simplefied way
