Copy images

Is it legal to copy images from the net and upload on my server and post it on my site?
How about accessing directly the image?
is there a site/services that offer this kind of service where in you can simply use images from them and use it on your site?

In more instances that not, it is illegal to use other peoples images without their permission, they are copyrighted by default. There are services available that allow you to purchase the license to use available images, one such site is istockphoto.com

That is referred to as hot-linking, and is generally frowned upon as you're costing other people bandwidth for your own gain.

Dependant on the kind of images in question, if you just ask the owner they may give you permission.

No, it's not legal. Using someone elses Intellectual Property in anyway (even hotlinking) without their permission is not legal. Even if you don't have a copy of the image, you're still using it for your own gain
