Is there anyway to tell if the browser has entered default form values?

Basically I want to know if its possible to tell if the browser has already entered the Username into the Username box of my login form by default.

If there isn't, is there any way to stop it doing so by default? I'd go without in this particular application if I can't tell if its been done.

you could use javascript to check the .value of each field.

Javascript was where I thought this might end up. I'm assuming that a listener could be set up to watch for any changes? Then I could execute whatever code I fancy if it is triggered?
