HTTP_REFERER

I have a form that will e-mail a message that includes the referring page URL. The problem is that if someone makes a mistake on the form it changes the value of the referrer from the correct referring URL to the current page.  Please help!

<input type="hidden" name="referer" value="<?php echo $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] ?>" />

If there's an error on the page, you should get the value of referer that was in the form. Without knowing how your page is setup, I can only guess how you would do this.

if ($error)
  $referer = $_POST['referer'];
else
  $referer = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];

<input type="hidden" name="referer" value="<?php echo $referer; ?>" />
