Garethp
Hey, I'm a bit stuck. I'm looking for a simple yet secure way to encrypt a string (not hash, I need to retrieve it later) so that I can store legally sensitive data which I need to use again later. I am aware that any kind of reversable data is by nature not properly secure, but it's not my decision. I'd rather see if there's a pre-built function or class for this rather than just writing my own, which wouldn't be too good Thanks in Advance Gareth
johnny86
A quick google search got me here: http://raynux.com/blog/2010/11/06/raycrypt-php-class-for-quick-two-way-encryption-and-decryption/ It seems very easy to use and lightweight class. Maybe it could help you.
requinix
mcrypt is 99% likely enough for your purposes. Have you found out the minimum cipher strength required? Minimum length of the key used? If there are restrictions on cipher method?
