Best CMS for developer to build on, then for client to maintain

Hi All,

I know there are a few threads on this topic, so I apologize for starting a new one... but the others didn't really answer the question in the way I was hoping.

I'm a fairly experience PHP developer and would like to start building sites with a CMS so that when it's all done and said I can hand it off to the client and they will be able to maintain its content with ease. At the same time, I'd like a CMS that's flexible and easy enough to code in things during the development stage... so kind of a best of both worlds thing.

Any suggestions on which CMS would be the best for this? I know it's possible with any if I have a strong enough grasp of the code, but naturally I'd like to go the most efficient route.

Thanks in advance
