Need to reset form on dropdown

Hi all

 

I have a form where there are three fields, category, type, colour. On the top drop down (Category) I need it to reset the form and remove the url parameters when it is selected. Here's my code:

      <select name="category" id="category_filter" style="width: 200px" onChange="this.form.submit();">

How do I reset the url when the user clicks the drop down?

That's great thank you! My URL will just be product.php?category=(Whatever the category id is)

 

How would I add this to the javascript?
