trq Posted January 18, 2012 Share Posted January 18, 2012 You do that by using mod_rewrite. Nothing to do with creating a new directory for each user. With mod_rewrite you can rewrite a url such as example.com/member to example.com/profile.php?user=member allowing you to use a single profile.php page for all users.
