For example, $img = "<img src=ChessImager/ChessImager.php?ds_color=(176,144,112)&ls_color=(224,200,160)&coordinates=on&square_size=$square_size&fen=" . urlencode($fen) . GD has a few image*() functions while ImageMagick has a writeImage() function. But I'm not sure you want to do that. How much can the colors change? Could they be anything?
