Zend Framework 1.8 have just been released. Major highlights in this version are tools for Rapid Application Development and Cloud Computing. It also contains several other new features as well as several bug fixes (more than 200).

Due to release of Zend_Tool and Zend_Application components, the venerable Zend Framework Quick Start tutorial has been updated to showcase the use of both. Look it up for quick introduction.
